Janice Gordon is an artist who loves the countryside in all its seasons, the wildlife, flowers, livestock and landscapes. Painting mainly in pastel and oil (and occasionally watercolour) she covers a wide range of subject matter from commissioned portraits of dogs, horses, racing scenes and heavy horses to landscapes . Having recently purchased a printing press, she is experimenting with collographs, etchings etc.
Over the past 30 years she has exhibited in London with the Pastel Society, the Society of Women Artists and the Society of Equestrian Artists.She has recently been elected a member of the Armed Forces Art Society and is an Associate Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists. In 2004 she was a finalist in the Daily Mail "NOT the Turner Prize" with a painting of Norfolk farmer Robin Combe entitled "Sunday Morning".
A member of the Stamford based Welland Valley Art Society, for over 30 years and is also a Member of the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle.
Having recently returned home to Norfolk, she is frequently to be found on the coast, painting the wonderful Norfolk landscapes and harbours. |
